2009 Cabernet ShootoutClick here for online registration form An incredible array of palates will gather to assess the best Cabernets from all over the world at the Cabernet Shootout finals on July 13, 2009 in San Francisco, California. The Wine Shootout Team expands their reach as The Wine Spies join Affairs of the Vine, Wine Radius and International Wine Review. Defining Cabernet StylesAn incredibly comprehensive and unique tasting of Cabernet, this year's Cabernet Shootout will explore and assess different styles of Cabernet. We will denote the descriptors and scores of the panelists and we will describe the wines as experienced by the female and male panelists in an attempt to discover whether women and men prefer different wine styles. Affairs of the Vine will conduct the Cabernet Shootout prelims throughout June and early July of 2009. The final judging will be conducted on Monday, July 13, 2009. The Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout will be featured on Twitter, other Social Media networks and in numerous wine publications. For the first time ever, the top wines from the Cabernet Shootout will have the opportunity to be a featured wine on The Wine Spies http://www.thewinespies.com The finalists will be showcased at a special Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout event later this year. The comments and reactions to the wines will be accessible on the Affairs of the Vine website and will be posted by late August, 2009. DEADLINE FOR CABERNET SAUVIGNON SHOOTOUT Vintners wishing to partake in this event should submit four bottles of each entry by June 16, 2009: The fee for each wine entry is $60.00. (Register online and save $10 per entry). Please provide the information requested on the submission form for each wine submitted. It will be helpful if you will include a spec sheet when you send your wine.
