A wide array of palates emphasizing both traditional and new media will gather to assess the best Cabernets from all over the world at the Cabernet Shootout finals on October 23, 2011 in San Francisco, California.

 


Defining Cabernet Styles

An incredibly comprehensive and unique tasting of Cabernet, this year’s Cabernet Shootout will explore and assess different styles of Cabernet. Susan Darwin judges at the Cabernet Finals

We will denote the descriptors and scores of the panelists and we will describe the wines as experienced by the female and male panelists in an attempt to discover whether women and men prefer different wine styles.

Affairs of the Vine will conduct the Cabernet Shootout prelims throughout August, September and early October of 2011.

The final judging will be conducted on Sunday, October 23, 2011 in San Francisco.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout will be featured on Twitter, Facebook, and other Social Media networks and in numerous wine publications.

The finalists will be showcased at a special Cabernet Sauvignon Shootout Challenge consumer event late this year.

The comments and reactions to the wines will be accessible on the Affairs of the Vine website and will be posted by mid-November, 2011.

All wines must be registered by September 2, 2011 (no exceptions!)

Vintners wishing to partake in this event but register by September 2, 2011 and must send four bottles of each entry ASAP.

Please provide the information requested on the submission form for each wine submitted.  It will be helpful if you will include a spec sheet when you send your wine.

The fee for each wine entry is $60.00.

*Please ensure that all wines submitted are currently available or will be available for purchase soon. Older vintages should only be submitted if they are still available for purchase either at retail outlets or through your tasting room or website.
